Located at the new Hotel Coco on Orwell Road, the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill has now started to welcome guests who will be able to enjoy what the famed chef and restaurateur describes as ‘affordable glamour’.
The opening of the new 70-cover restaurant coincides with the launch of a seasonal menu that is perfect for the summer. The summer dishes sit alongside the range of classic dishes that the famed chef loves so much and will, it is hoped, go down well with both locals and visitors to Felixstowe.
Andrew Vales, general manager said: “It’s great to be open and we’re very much looking forward to welcoming guests here at the Steakhouse Bar & Grill. It’s such exciting news that someone as famous as Marco Pierre White has opened a restaurant in Felixstowe and will help pull people into the town."
“The restaurant interior is stunning and really reflects Marco’s ethos of what he thinks eating out is all about. It’s not pretentious, just great food served in a space that has a great atmosphere. We also have a new private dining room which is great for those wanting to enjoy a more intimate celebration and the bar area, which also includes seating , has also been completely renewed."
“We’re here for all occasions from a light lunch or a celebratory dinner. Whatever the occasion, this new venue will be the place to go.”
Those who visit in the coming months will be able to choose from some classic British / French dishes inspired by Pierre White’s extensive knowledge of the culinary world.
Starters include Wheeler’s Crispy Calamari, Colonel Mustard’s Scotch Egg and The Governor’s French Onion Soup.
From the grill there’s a delicious range of grass-fed beef from renowned butcher Campbell Brothers. Signature steaks include Fillet Steak au Poivre, Fillet Steak with Garlic Prawns and Fillet Steak with Vintage Balsamico. There are also classic steaks including ribeye, sirloin and fillet plus those who want to indulge in a sharing steak can choose from the Tomahawk, Chateaubriand and Porterhouse T-Bone.
There’s also a selection of main dishes such as Roasted Rump of Lamb, Escalope of Salmon ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ and a Roasted Pork Loin Steak.
On the à la carte seasonal specials starters include a Caponata of Summer Vegetables, Chilled Tomato Soup Andalucian with Atlantic Prawns and a Classic Gravlax of Salmon. Guests with any room left will then be able to choose one of the new summer puddings including an Eton Mess, Traditional Summer Pudding and 1879 Cambridge Burnt Cream.
Andrew added: “These fabulous new summer dishes sit alongside our classic range of starters, steaks and mains so there’s plenty of choice to suit all palates. Of course, the best way to find out the full range of these new seasonal dishes is to pop in and try them out. There really is something for everyone.”
