The teams at two Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill restaurants in Wales are looking forward to welcoming back guests following the Welsh Government’s two-week fire break lockdown.
With the Welsh lock down coming to an end on 9 November, will mean people across Wales will be allowed to go out and enjoy a meal. The teams at the Cardiff and Swansea venues are now remotely gearing up for what they hope will be a busy time during which they can make up for two week’s lost business.
The Swansea restaurant which is located at J Shed in the SA1 area of the city, opened its doors in August, and quickly established itself as one of the more popular places to eat out in the city while the Cardiff restaurant can be found on the sixth floor of Dominions House just off Queen Street.
Restaurant manager Rhys Andrews is now getting his team ready so that they can hit the ground running once the restrictions are lifted.
Rhys Andrews, restaurant manager in Swansea said: “Having developed and opened the venue during the first lockdown was a great achievement in itself and we were delighted with the response and level of interest once we opened. Of course it was disappointing to close, however the health and safety of our guests, staff and general public as a whole must come first.
“Marco even popped over before we had to shut to say thanks to the team and demonstrates just how hands-on he is and was a great boost for the team. We’re now getting ready for our second opening, and judging by the number of covers booked so far, seems like there is very much an appetite by the people of Swansea to eat out.”
Victoria Milner, Restaurant General Manager in Cardiff added: “Of course we’ll be adhering to social distancing rules and will maintain the strictest regime in terms of hygiene so guests can dine assured we’ve gone above and beyond what’s required to look after their health and safety.
“For those thinking about coming out for lunch or dinner, our Autumn menu, which was proving a big it before lockdown part two, is still available and includes some fantastic dishes that have not only been devised by Marco himself, but are perfect for this time of year.
“Guests can also pop in for a drink but only on a table service basis. But our view is following the second lock down, why not let us do the cooking while guests sit back, relax and enjoy a delicious meal that’s been devised by arguably the UK’s greatest ever chef and has to be the ideal remedy for the end of the fire break lockdown.”
