• Marco Pierre White’s New Salisbury Restaurant Now Open

The new Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill in Salisbury has opened its doors.

Located at The Stones Hotel, the 50-cover restaurant started to welcome its first guests on Thursday 17 September.

Replacing what was the hotel’s on-site restaurant, it is set to become one of the city’s most exciting dining experiences and brings to life what Pierre White describes as ‘affordable glamour’ where signature steaks are served alongside timeless English and French classics.

Michael Barnes, hotel general manager said: “It’s great to be open and I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved to get the restaurant ready. Marco Pierre White is such an iconic British chef and his unique take on traditional dishes is superb and we know that the people of Salisbury will want to come back again and again to try everything on the menu.

“It’s also remarkable to think that, despite the lockdown, we’ve been able to develop the site and open this amazing new venue. It’s given the city a much-needed boost in terms of a new dining experience as well as creating new jobs.

“During the build-up, the response from the people of Salisbury has been phenomenal and it’s certainly going to be a busy time.”

With the menu having been personally devised by Pierre White, steak remains at its heart, while other dishes are based on his own childhood favourites and gastronomic experiences.

Starters include Wheeler’s Crispy Calamari, Mr White’s Scotch Egg and a delicious Beetroot & Goat’s Cheese Salad. Alongside the steaks mains includes Roast Chicken À La Forestière, Escalope of Pork À La Milanese and Mr Lamb’s Shepherd’s Pie.

Those with any room left can then indulge in one of the sumptuous desserts which includes a 70% Dark Chocolate Mousse, Mr White’s Classic Cheesecake or Alex James’ (of Blur fame) Blue Monday or Vintage Mature Cheddar.

The menu is complemented by an extensive and varied wine menu as well as a selection of stylish cocktails with something to suit everyone from classic martinis to more adventurous cocktails.

Michael added: “There certainly seems to be demand out there and shows that customers are wanting to go out and eat and enjoy themselves.

“Although the new rule of six has come into force across the country, we don’t see this stopping people from going out to enjoy a delicious lunch of dinner.

“We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene and we’ve taken every precaution so that those who dine with us can do so safe in the knowledge that all has been done to safeguard their health and that of the staff.”
