We’re celebrating International Women’s Day this year by shining a light on our amazing females who work right here, with us at Marco Pierre White Restaurants. 

It’s important for us, to really showcase our amazing females across the company. We’ve been sent some truly amazing stories and features our incredible female team members right across the brand and we are so proud to share them today on International Women’s Day.

From us at Marco Pierre White Restaurants, we want to say a huge thank you to these individuals, PLUS EVERY female who works hard across the brand. Whether you’re a working Mum juggling various roles, if you’re studying, if you’re new to the role, or if you have been working with us for a long time, we want to say THANK YOU. Julie, Steakhouse Bristol

Julie has worked for Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill, Bristol for the last seven years. Julie started as a Host and has now progressed to become Senior Supervisor & Administrator. Julie’s favourite part of her role is greeting her guests every morning during her breakfast shifts and interacting with our regular clientele. She enjoys hearing all the stories of people’s travel and ensuring they receive a 5-star service. Her favourite item on the menu is Roast Lamb à la Dijonnaise served with Buttered green beans, fondant potato and rosemary roasting juices. Her colleagues describe her as hard-working, enthusiastic, and conscientious. International Women’s Day inspires Julie because she loves that strong women are being recognised. 

Polly, Steakhouse Bristol

Polly has worked for Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill, Bristol for the past year. Prior to this role, Polly was a Receptionist at the front-desk of Doubletree by Hilton, Cadbury House and then became a Food and Beverage Assistant at the restaurant. Polly’s favourite part of her role is working closely alongside her colleagues and engaging with customers as she loves the fast-paced environment. Her favourite item on the menu is Fillet Steak Au Poivre Fricassée with peppercorn sauce. Her colleagues describe her as motivated, determined, and approachable. Polly is striving to achieve success and loves that all women can be honoured on a day like International Women’s Day. 

Kayleigh, Steakhouse Bristol

 Kayleigh has worked for Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill, Bristol for the past seven years. Kayleigh has progressed through the team, starting as a Food and Beverage Assistant and is now a Senior Supervisor. Kayleigh’s favourite part of her role is making the cocktails in our Marco Pierre White Bar & Lounge. She likes to invent new cocktail recipes for different promotions. Her favourite item on the menu is Escalope of Pork alla Milanese. Her colleagues describe her as passionate, assiduous, and charismatic. Kayleigh appreciates International Women’s Day because as a working mum, she loves knowing that there is a day to focus on women’s achievements as Kayleigh strives to be a hard-working career woman as well as a great Mum to her little girl and is thankful that everyone can appreciate her determination. 

Gina, Steakhouse Bristol

Gina has worked for Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill, Bristol for the past five years. Gina is our Senior Breakfast Chef, her favourite part of the role is the acceleration of producing delicious food consistently. She loves the challenge of a busy breakfast shift and excels under pressure. Her favourite item on the menu is The English House Chicken & Leek Pie served with Buttered Garden Peas. Her colleagues describe her as exceptional, dependable, and resourceful. Gina is excited for women to be celebrated on International Women’s Day for their social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. 

Michaela, Steakhouse Bristol

Michaela has worked for Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill, Bristol for the past three years. Michaela is our Food and Beverage Assistant, and her favourite part of the role is having the opportunity to meet a variety of people and interact with the customers. Delighting customers from all walks of life has helped to build Michaela’s confidence within herself and her role and she has thoroughly enjoyed making that change. Her favourite item on the menu is the famous Mr White’s Classic Cheesecake served with fresh blueberry sauce. Her colleagues describe her as encouraging, resilient and amiable. Michaela is excited to celebrate International Women’s Day with her little girl. She feels encouraged that she is raising a young lady and that there is an entire day in place to celebrate all women and show her little girl that the possibilities for women are endless. 

 

 

Britany Charity, Reservations & Events, Steakhouse Plymouth

Britany started as a team member in the restaurant and is now the Event Coordinator & Reservationist for the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Plymouth. Brittany wanted to remain at the restaurant but develop into a slightly different role, within her new position she has found a new passion & career path. Brittany loves working in hospitality as she feels passionate about the brand and the history behind it. Her favourite dish on the menu is Marco's French Onion Soup.

Her team would describe her thoughtful, selfless and hysterical. To Brittany, International Women’s Day is about celebrating the success of women and our relationships with one another. 

Fran, General Manager, Steakhouse Plymouth

Fran has worked for Marco Pierre White’s for six years. She started in Events and Reservations, progressed into Operations before swiftly embarrassed being a Host, Supervisor, Assistant Manager and then to her current role of Restaurant General Manager, looking back Fran never believe she would be in the position she’s in, but with hard work and support from the Hotel & Marco Pierre White Restaurants, it was possible. 

Fran enjoys working in hospitality as everyday is different, you always meet new people and build an empire with constant areas for development. Her favourite dish on the menu is Wheeler’s Crispy Calamari. 

Fran would describe herself as strong, fearless and patient. To Fran, International Women’s Day means to continue to be strong, supporting the drive of female empowerment and to be proud. 

Francesca is a shining example of how you can evolve in the company and grow with the brand. We want to thank her for all the hard work she puts in every single day at our Plymouth Restaurant.

 

Steakhouse Durham – Leadership Team

Dominika, Rhiannon, Rachel & Kirsty

Kirsty: My leadership team is now all inspirational ladies, between us we have thirteen years experience with Marco Pierre White Restaurants, and we love his take on affordable glamour.

Our favourite dishes are Mr White’s Scotch Egg, Marco’s Macaroni Cheese, Roast Lamb à la Dijonnaise and Mr Coulson’s Sticky Toffee Pudding.

We asked our male team members, including our GM, Tom Orange, to describe us in three words; passionate, confident & knowledgeable.

 

Eva Peto, F&B Assistant Manager, Steakhouse Liverpool

Eva has worked here for almost four years and her favourite dish is the Ribeye steak, cooked medium.

Irina Cubareva, F&B Assistant, Steakhouse Liverpool

Irina has worked at the restaurant for one year and loves meeting new people. Her favourite dish is Fillet Steak with Garlic King Prawns. 

Chloe Scanlon, Operations Manager, Steakhouse Liverpool

Chloe has worked at the restaurant for two years and her team members describe her ‘as always up for a laugh’. Her favourite dish on the menus is the 12oz Fillet Steak cooked medium rare. 

Danielle Wynne, Receptionist, Steakhouse Liverpool

Danielle has worked at the Hotel for an amazing nine years and is described as happy by her teammates. Her favourite dish on the menu is Marco’s Classic Caesar Salad.

Vicki Redhead, Sales & Marketing Manager, Steakhouse Liverpool

Vicki has worked at the restaurant for almost three years and is described as fun by her team. Vicki’s favourite dish on the menu is Fillet Steak with Garlic King Prawns. 

Magda Zerkula, Steakhouse Liverpool 

Magda is described as hardworking by their team and has worked at the restaurant for six years.

Anislya Amaudova , Steakhouse Liverpool

Anislya has been with the team for three years and is a delight to have in the team.

 

 

Paige, Bartender, Steakhouse Meriden 

Paige has been a bartender at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Meriden for five months and her favourite cocktail is the Porn Star Martini. She describes herself as being a happy and bubbly individual and also very passionate. IWD to her means women coming together and supporting each other.

 

Reda, Operations Manager, Steakhouse Birmingham

Reda has been the Operations Manager for 3 months, and has worked in hospitality for 15 years. Reda enjoys the buzz of Hospitality and meeting new and talking with new people. Her favourite 3 course meal on the menu is The Governor’s French Onion Soup to start (she fell in love with Marco’s soup), Fillet Steak with Garlic King Prawns and Mr Coulson’s Sticky Toffee Pudding to finish.

Reda would describe herself as bubbly, a team player and crazy. Reda sees everyday as International Women’s day and wants to empower & celebrating women daily.

Valentina, Steakhouse Birmingham

Valentina has been at Marco Pierre White Birmingham since 2015 and loves working with the beautiful view everyday. She loves working in hospitality and prides herself in guest satisfaction. The team would describe Valentina as approachable and organised.

Philippa, Hotel Reception, Steakhouse Folkestone

Philippa (on the left in the white shirt) works on our Hotel Reception, and looks after our MPW reservations. She has worked at the hotel for over twenty years.

Becky, Steakhouse Folkestone

Becky (to the bottom of Philippa) has worked at Marco Pierre White for three years, looking after our guests on a daily basis.

Zaida, F&b Manager, Steakhouse Folkestone

Zaida (blue jacket) has been Food & Beverage Manager for six years at The Clifton Hotel, overseeing Marco Pierre White with the management team, she first started out our Dover restaurant and has worked for the company for 16 years. 

Zaida came to the UK from the Philippines in 2007 after the birth of her daughter, having worked for many years in the 5* hospitality industry in both Oman and Dubai. Starting at our sister hotel in Dover, Zaida has worked for the company for 16 years

Cathy, Steakhouse Folkestone

Cathy (to Zaida's right) has been at Marco Pierre White for four years now, supervising the restaurant on a daily basis. Cathy came to the UK from the Philippines in 2009 and has worked in both the medical and hospitality professions. Before starting work at MPW Steakhouse Bar and Grill, Folkestone, she successfully owned and ran to critical acclaim, "Anna's", a small, boutique coffee shop just off the main high street in Folkestone, serving light lunches and afternoon teas.

Both Zaida & Cathy provide a first class, fantastic service to our guests, whether they are regular customers, or first-timer's, guests are always welcomed and acknowledged with a smile and the warm hospitality Filipinos are known for throughout the World.

As ladies in a male dominated industry, both have succeeded in contributing to a positive image of the hotel and restaurant in Folkestone and showcasing it to the wider community. International Women's Day is truly International when it comes to these ladies. There is nothing more that they love doing than looking after our guest's and being there for a family across the other side of the World.

 

Meg, Steakhouse Hull

Meg - One of the longest serving members of staff, Meg started work at the hotel when she was just 18 as a commis chef. Awarded Employee of the Year in 2021 she is the most well-loved and well-respected member of the kitchen team in Hull. 

Nothing is ever too much trouble for Meg and she has guest's and staff in her heart, providing the best service each and every time. According to her colleagues, Meg is caring, understanding and deserv­ing of any recognition and although she doesn't want any accolades, she so deserves them.
